Anil Biswas'death came as a great shock : Somnath Chatterjee
Kolkata, Mar 26 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has expressed "great shock" at the "untimely passing away" of Cpi-m West Bengal state Secretary Anil Biswas here this evening.
In a signed condolence message, Mr Chatterjee, himself a senior Cpi-m leader, said Mr Biswas sincerely and steadfastly upheld the party's traditions.
"As a worker and leader of the Communist movement he always championed the cause of the struggling people and the deprived masses. His organising ability was unmatched and with his amiable disposition and concern for the causes of the common people he had earned respect of all".
" Although he (Mr Biswas) was lying very critically ill for the last few days his untimely death has come as a great shock to me and to all members and sympathisers of the party and to a large number of people cutting across the party line", the Lok Sabha Speaker said and felt that it was a great loss to the party.
Paying respectful homage to his memory, Mr Chatterjee said all party members, supporters and followers would definitely strive their utmost to fulfil his unfinished task.
