Kolkata, Mar 26 (UNI) Following the footsteps of several party leaders, CPI-M West Bengal state Secretary Anil Biswas committed to donate his body after death for medical research and development in March 2003.

Signing the donation document of ''Ganadarpan'', a leading NGO in this field, in the state party headquaters at Alimudding Steet on March 9 three years ago, Mr Biswas, then aged 59, described himself as a ''politician and social worker'', while filling up the column to describe his profession.

The two witnesses who also signed the documents were Mr Biswas' party colleagues Mr Dhiman Kahali and Mr Sarbani Prasad Santra at the state party headquarters.

Accordingly, instead of cremation, Mr Biswas' body would be donated to the NRS Medical College and hospital in the city tomorrow for conducting medical research by the students there.
