Aashiqui boy Rahul Roy returns to silver screen with 'Naughty Boy'
New Delhi, Mar 26 (UNI) Remember Rahul Roy, the actor who came into limelight in Bollywood in the 80s with the musical hit 'Aashiqui'.
Rahul who had, after dabbling with Bollywood for a few years in films like 'Junoon' and 'Gumrah', suddenly done the "disappearing act" from Bollywood in the 90s, is now all set to return to the silver screen with 'Naughty Boy', a film revolves around a ''naughty'' father and son (played by Rahul Roy and newcomer Hitesh) who fall in love with the same girl.
Directed by T L V Prasad, who has made sex comedies like 'Mazaa Mazaa' and 'Tauba Tauba' in the last couple of years, the film has Roy play the role of a multi-millionare widower with a teenaged son who hires a young governess to give some personality tips to his introvert son but instead falls for her. Incidentally, the son too falls for the same girl. The girl, who already has a lover, basks in the attention from the son and the father without letting them know about her boyfriend.
Asked as to what led him to make a comeback with a film with sexual overtones like 'The Naughty Boy', Rahul, calling cinema as a source of entertainment and not documentary film-making, said,''audiences don't watch serious films. They are fed-up of such cinema.'' ''People who say they don't like bold films are hypocritical.
Everybody wants spice in their life,'' he added.
The film has Rahul co-star with model-turned actor Mona Chopra.
Who earlier starred in a sex comedy ''Time Pass'' and the ''controversial'' Sins.
Asked as to what led her to be a part of such sleazy films as 'Time Pass' and now 'Naughty Boy' evoking criticism for the vulgarity in them, Mona said,''vulgarity is more in the minds of the people than in the films made these days.'' Besides 'Naughty Boy', Mona already has two Hindi films, one by Amol Shetge and another mushy romantic movie titled Game, and a couple of Telugu films in her kitty.
This Hyderabad girl dreams of working with Hollywood star Sharon Stone some day.
Releasing on Friday, 'Naughty Boy' has been produced by Mahendra Dhariwal, who earlier produced ''Maa Tujhe Salaam'' starring mega star Sunny Deol.
