100 houses gutted in North Cachar hills district

Haglong, Mar 26 (UNI) More than 100 houses of employees of Umrangso Cement Limited, NE cement and Kopili tea estate in north Cachar hills district of Asom were reduced to ashes today.

Fire tenders from Haflong and Lanka were called in to douse the fire.

Additional District Commissioner, M H Laskar, rushed to the spot.

The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are not yet known.
