Kharar, Mar 25 (UNI) Punjab Police today arrested two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) activists and recovred 250 grams of RDX and 11 live cartridges of .30 bore rifle from them.

Ropar Senior Suprintendent of Police SP Singh said Avtar Singh (46) and Kamajit Singh alias Lally (35) were close associates of BKI's India head Paramjeet Singh Bheora. Earlier Bheora and his associates were arrested by the Delhi and Chandigarh Police on March 20 and 21.

Along with his mentor Jagtar Singh Hawara, who was also arrested by Delhi Police in June last year, Bheora was one of the architects of the sensational Burail Jail escape in January 2004 where they were facing trial in former Punjab CM Beant Singh assassination case.

According to SSP, the seized explosive and ammunition was part of the consignment sent by Pakistan-based BKI supremo Wadhawa Singh Babbar to Bheora.

''They were going on a mission assigned to them by their mentors when we caught hold of them on the basis of vital information decoded from custodial interrogation of Bheora and his associates and secret information,'' the SSP added.
