LED-based emergency lighting systems in rail coaches
Chennai, Mar 25: Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has introduced LED-based emergency lighting systems in its coaches to help relief and rescue activities in the event of rail mishaps.
Compared to the conventional filament-based lamps, these lighting systems were more reliable and would not either fuse or fail due to the impact of any accident, a release here said yesterday.
Railway Board Additional Member R K Sareen inspected a coach fitted with LED-based emergency light systems.
These lights have long life and low power consumption and would be of immense use to save human lives in case of an accident as the system continue to provide light inside the overturned or damaged coaches for six to eight hours, the release added .
