CPI not satisfied with Centre's functioning, hails Sonia's stand
Ludhiana, Mar 25 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary A B Bardhan today hailed Congress President Sonia Gandhi's decision to resign from the membership of the Lok Sabha as well as the chairmanship of the National Advisory Council (NAC).
Speaking on the 'office of profit' issue, Mr Bardhan said that an all party meeting should be called and this issue should also be discussed in Parliament. He criticised the BJP for targeting the Congress president Ms Sonia Gandhi on this issue.
Mr Bardhan, who was here to take part in the 13th All India Conference of Power Workers, however said CPI was not satisfied with the functioning of the Union Government.
He said that that no improvement was noticeable in the power sector, which was given over to private players. He stressed that the CPI always wanted Power to be with the public sector.
