Uma fires broadside at Sonia
Bhopal, Mar 24 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader Uma Bharti today objected to Congress president Sonia Gandhi's resignation as MP and National Advisory Council chairperson being described as part of her reclusive and ascetic temperament.
''Attempts were made to glorify her. The office of profit issue made Mrs Gandhi and the Congress fall into their own trap,'' the firebrand leader told reporters here.
The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister claimed that had Ms Gandhi been serious over the matter, she would have convened an all-party meeting in her capacity as UPA chairperson and attempted to arrive at a universally-acceptable solution.
On the Congress besieging Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the very issue, Ms Bharti said, ''For me the chief issue is Sonia Gandhi.'' When asked whether she was aiding the BJP by involving herself in the fight against the Congress chief, she said Ms Gandhi was her number one target.
