Telecom employee sentenced in bribery case

Patna, Mar 24 (UNI) Special CBI judge of patna Jawahar Prasad Ratnesh today awarded two years of rigorous imprisonment in addition to a total fine of Rs 10,000 to an employee of Telecom department in a bribery case.

The accused, a former Assistant in Telecom department of Patna Shivshankar Bhagat was held guilty by the designated judge under the various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act(PCA).

According to charges, the convict was caught red handed by the CBI sleuths while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 200 from a customer of the department for providing him a pay phone connection on November 19,1999.
