Six opposition legislators suspended
Jaipur, Mar 24 (UNI) Six Opposition legislators of Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha were suspended today as the impasse over the suspension of a Congress legislator continued to rock the House.
Chief whip Mahavir Prasad Jain proposed to suspend legislators Dr C P Joshi, Sanyam Lodha, C D Deval, Mahipal Yadav, Ranbir Singh Gudha and Ashok Bairwa, for deliberately interrupting the House proceedings. The proposal was passed by a resounding voice vote.
The legislators have been suspended for the remaining days of the current Budget session.
The House was adjourned for the day after grants on irrigation and drinking were passed by voice vote.
Earlier the House was adjourned twice for an hour and later for 45 minutes because of dharna and slogan shouting by the Opposition members at the well of the House over the suspension of Congress legislator Raghubir Singh Meena for not tendering apology for his objectionable behaviour in the House.
