Rs 35 cr released under RAY for BCs: Minister
Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Minister for Rural Development and Backward Class Welfare D Srinivas today told the State Assembly a sum of Rs 35 crore was released during the financial year 2005-06 for implementing Rajiv Abhyudaya Yojana (RAY) for the development of Backward Classes (BCs) in the state.
Replying to a question by Mr Anam Vivekananda Reddy and others of Congress, he said the scheme would be implemented through AP Backward Classes Cooperative Finance Corporation Limited in the urban areas and through the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) in rural areas.
He said detailed guidelines were prepared and beneficiary identification camps held.An amount of Rs 64.35 lakh was provided as urban component and Rs 1,721 lakh as rural component for the Nellore district.
