MP assembly budget session ends

Bhopal, Mar 24 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh assembly's 39-day truncated budget session -- the eighth session of the state's 12th vidhan sabha -- concluded today after witnessing 22 sittings during which the annual financial statement 2006-07 was passed, official sources said.

The session got underway on February 14 with Governor Balram Jakhar's address. A total of 7,181 questions were received of which 4,717 were starred. The number of call attention notices stood at 883, 98 adjournment notices were received and 251 petitions submitted.

Seven bills were passed, eight private resolutions discussed and one discussion took place under Rule 139.
