Malaysia minister cuts short Myanmar visit-source
YANGON, Mar 24 (Reuters) Malaysian Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar is cutting short his trip to military-ruled Myanmar after meeting the junta's prime minister today, a source close to his delegation said.
''I think he has to attend a meeting back home,'' the source told Reuters just after Syed Hamid checked out of Yangon's Traders Hotel to head off to his appointment with Prime Minister Soe Win.
The source said Syed Hamid would go straight to the airport after the meeting. He had been due to finish his fact-finding trip on Myanmar's faltering and much-criticised transition to democracy tomorrow.
