Jharkhand Assembly adjourned abruptly

Ranchi, Mar 24 (UNI) Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Indersingh Namdhari today adjourned the budget session sine die abruptly after passing amended Legislature Removal Disqualification Bill, 2006, amidst slogan shoutings from the Opposition members.

The budgest session was scheduled to continue March 29. But the Speaker adjourned the House sine die one hour before the lunch break.

Earlier, before the proceedings of the House began, the Opposition UPA members staged a dharna before the Assembly, demanding disqualification of four ruling MLAs on alleged holding office of profit.

However, the Opposition members entered the hall immediately after the Speaker took his seat.

Opposition leader Sudhir Mahato immediately demanded the disqualification of the four members as they were holding the offices of profit. They should emulate the path of Ms Sonia Gandhi, who resigned from the Lok Sabha yesterday.

The Opposition members also rushed almost to the Speaker's podium and started shouting slogans in favour of their demands. Amidst slogans the Bill was passed and after that the Speaker adjourned the House sine die.

Meanwhile, Governor Syed Shibtey Razi recommended for disqualification of four ruling Legislators to the Election Commission for necessary action for holding offices of profit.
