Identification parade of Abhishek Kasliwal conducted: DCP
Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) The identification parade of Abhishek Kasliwal, arrested for allegedly raping a 52-year-old woman at Worli in South Central Mumbai, was conducted in Arthur road jail premises yesterday Mumbai DCP Santosh Rastogi today confirmed.
He also said the report of the parade, conducted by a judicial magistrate in the absence of police personnel, was likely to come within a day or two.
On March 21, while remanding Abhishek to judicial custody till April three, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate P P Suroshe had granted permission to the police to conduct an identification parade of the accused.
Mumbai police had already conducted a lie-detector and brain mapping test on the accused on March 19 at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Bangalore. The report of the tests is yet to be received.
Abhishek (27), the scion of promoters of S Kumars group, was arrested in the wee hours on March 12 for allegedly raping a 52-year-old woman in the Shree Ram mills compound in Worli.
He is the son of mills' owner Ambuj Kasliwal and was arrested following a complaint by the woman, hailing from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
The accused has been booked under sections 376 (rape) and 325 (causing grievious injury) of the IPC and his car has also been seized.
