HC issues contempt notices two Hakims in UP
Allahabad, Mar 24 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today issued contempt of court notices to Hakim Nazrul Hasan Farooqui of Saharanpur and Hakim Fasahat Hussain of Muzaffarnagar district to show cause why they should not be punished for fraud and committing contempt of court.
As per facts, by means of order dated May 15, 2005, the HC had held that unless the courses being offered by Sifta Mulk Tibbia College, Muzaffarnagar and Bharat Tibbia College, Saharanpur, were recognised under the provisions of Indian Medicine Central Council Act 1970, the two colleges could not undertake fresh admissions and continue with the degree course in Unani Medicine.
The two colleges filed special appeals against the order, which was later dismissed by the court. Supressing these facts the concerned colleges filed writ peitition in the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court and got an interim order to the effect that they may be permitted to run the courses.
Following this development, contempt of court notices were issued to the two college heads and the case was posted for further hearing on April 17 next.
