Bomb found, militants apprehended

Imphal, Mar 24 (UNI) A bomb was found in the toilet of the office of an executive engineer while five militants were apprehended in separate insurgency related incidents by Assam Rifles and police during the last 24 hours.

Police said a bomb was found in the toilet of an executive engineer of the Manipur Tribal Development Corporation at Imphal yesterday. The bomb was taken to a safe place and defused.

Police have no clue as to how the bomb was planted inside the office complex and were investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, in another incident Assam Rifles and Thoubal Police commandos apprehended a People's Liberation Army(PLA) cadre, who was allegedly involved in the attack on a BSF camp and a police team at Thoubal earlier, in which three policemen died.

Imphal East Police team apprehended four cadres of the Kuki Revolutionary Army in different incidents in Imphal.
