Anil still critical

Kolkata, Mar 24: The condition of CPI(M) State Secretary Anil Biswas still remains critical today even as there was no further deterioration.

A bulletin issued by the seven-member medical board attending on him at a private nursing home said Mr Biswas was still on ventilatory support.

The board that reviewed the state of Mr Biswas last night and also this morning said his neurological and cardio-vascular status remained unchanged and the blood pressure had been kept stable with drugs.

''His condition continues to be critical but stable,'' Dr Jayanta Bose, one of the members of the board, said.

Mr Biswas who is also a CPI(M) Polit Bureau member, was admitted to nursing home on March 17 following a severe brain haemorrhage.
