VTM officials raid hideouts to curb grey market telephony

Kolkata, Mar 23 (UNI) In order to curb the grey market telephony, officers from Vigilance Technical Monitoring (VTM) cell under department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, conducted raids in several parts of the city yesterday.

The nightlong raids were conducted with the help of police.

Seeveral hideouts were unearthed and FIRs were lodged against the people, who were carrying out the illegal business.

The estimated daily loss owing to the grey market telephony was to the tune of Rs four lakhs approximately.
