TDP conduct mock assembly protesting kickbacks

Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Expelled members of the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today held a mock assembly proceedings inside the assembly premises to highlight the Andhra Pradesh government's alleged kickbacks for Rs 400 crore by hiking the cost of the Sripadasagar Project.

Two TV Channels were covering the mock assembly proceedings Live, when the issue was brought to the notice of the Speaker KR Suresh Reddy by the Minister for Finance and Legislative Affairs K Rosaiah.

Mr Reddy immediately ordered to stop the coverage.

K Kala Venkat Rao acted as the 'speaker' in the mock assembly and K Achannaidu of the TDP acted as finance and legislative affairs minister K Rosaiah.

While Nagam Janardhan Reddy said the government had swallowed Rs 400 crore in the Sripadasagar Project. Mr Achannaidu said the Government had several compulsions, including sending money to the AICC.

As the proceedings were on, Mr Rosaiah brought it to the notice of the Speaker that the suspended members of the House had entered the assembly premises and were holding mock proceedings without the permission of the chair.

He said two channels were telecasting the proceedings of the mock assembly live without the permission of the Speaker.

Mr Reddy immediately suspended the proceedings.

Responding to complaints on the infringement of the Speaker's rights by the TDP and the TV channels, Mr Reddy said he would examine the issue and take suitable action.
