Special police battalion in AP Dist, says Govt

Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Agreeing with the DGP's suggestion, the state government today issued orders to locate the headquarters of the 15th Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battalion at Sattupalli in Khammam district.

The government had earlier ordered raising of the battalion by recruiting tribal youth from notified scheduled areas of Andhra Pradesh.

The move will help youth displaced by the Polavaram to get employment. Those in scheduled areas of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Mahaboobnagar, Warangal, Adilabad and Khammam will be recruited, according to an official press release here.
