Sonia has set high moral standards, says CM

Shimla, Mar 23 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said Congress President Sonia Gandhi had set high moral standards by resigning from Lok Sabha and National Advisory Council.

''Ms Gandhi had set an example of sacrifice, selfless service and high standard of moral ethics in public life, which should also be emulated by others,'' he said here.

Mr. Singh said the Congress President had upheld the high moral values and democratic traditions, while giving a new direction to Indian polity.

''Ms Gandhi is a source of inspiration and strength for the people and the party,'' he added.

State Irrigation and Public Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur and Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan have also lauded the Congress President for upholding high moral values.

In a joint press release here, they said by resigning from the Lok Sabha and NAC, Ms Gandhi had shown her faith in the Indian Constitution and the law of the land.
