Shetkari Sagngathan activists ransack sugar factory

Kolhapur, Mar 23 (UNI) The activists of the city unit Shetakari Sanghatana (SS) today ransacked the office of the Kumbhi-Kasari cooperative sugar factory located at Kuditre in this district.

Police said the SS activists went to meet the factory's Managing Director V A Shinde to submit a memorandum about the farmers' demands about cane prices and the release of the payment.

A war of words ensued inside his office, resulting in the ransack of the office furniture and other materials. Then, the irate activists smeared Mr Shinde's face with ink, police said and added no arrests have been made so far.
