Rs 1.25 lakh fake currency seized
Amritsar, Mar 23 (UNI) The Punjab Police today seized Rs 1.25 lakh fake Indian currency notes and arrested three persons in this connection, ADGP (intelligence) J P Birdi here today said.
Addressing mediapersons, Mr Birdi said the notes were all in Rs 1000 denominations. The seizure was made near the canal at Sultanwind village this morning.
Three persons identified as Balkar Singh of Sultanwind, Sarabjit Singh of Guruwali village and Vishal a resident of Majitha road were arrested in this connection. The three had claimed that they were given the fake notes by Sukhdev Singh, a smuggler of Narli village, who was still at large.
