Rio condoles death of Bhrigu Phukan
Kohima, Mar 23 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has condoled the untimely death of Bhrigu Kumar Phukan in New Delhi on Monday.
Describing Mr Phukan as a true student leader and politician, Mr Rio said, ''He stood for the welfare of the people of Asom and was instrumental in signing the Assam accord as well as the formation of the Asom Gana Parishad''.
As a student leader and social activist, Mr Phukan led from the front, he said yesterday.
The Nagaland Chief Minister said that with the demise of Mr Phukan, the people of Asom had lost a true patriot and the Nagas, a friend.
Mr Rio conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
