PM calls on Kalam

New Delhi, Mar 23: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today called on President A P J Abdul Kalam.

''The Prime Minister apprised President of the current developments,'' a Rashtrapati Bhavan spokesman said.

The meeting took place after the Defence Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, he said.

Earlier in the day, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had quit as MP and NAC Chairperson in the wake of demands for her disqualification from the Lok Sabha for holding an office of profit.
