Petrol dealers observe bandh

Kolhapur, Mar 23 (UNI) The petrol dealers today observed a bandh to protest against sealing of a petrol pump by the revenue department officials here yesterday.

The Kolhapur Petrol Dealers Association, which is against the imposition of conversion tax by Maharashtra government, condemned the action of the revenue department for sealing a petrol pump in its meeting and observed the bandh to oppose the action, association sources said.

The revenue department officials has undertaken a campaign to collect conversion tax and in this connection, they had sealed a petrol pump yesterday for the failure to pay the conversion tax by its owner, the sources added.

The sale of petrol by pumps was stopped today, causing inconvenience to the customers.
