Paithan to be developed in line with Shirdi: Jamadar
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 23 (UNI) The district administration has drawn a plan to undertake development at Paithan, a famous pilgrimage town in the district, in line with Shirdi and Pandharpur, Additional Collector and President of the Saint Eknath Maharaj Temple Trustee board Dileep Jamadar today said.
Speaking on the occasion of annual fair, Mr Jamadar said that the devotees visiting the temple town, which is also known as 'Dakshin Kashi', would be made available all the facilities in line with the other piligrimage centres.
Referring to the developments carried out by the Maharashtra government at the prominent piligrimage centres such as Shegao, Deogad and Pandharpur, Mr Jamadar said that efforts would be made to undertake similar kinds of development at Paithan.
As many as seven lakh devotees across the state had visited the Saint Eknath Temple here on the occasion of 'Nath Shashti Utsav'.
Health authorities have made elaborate arrangements to prevent the spread of dengue like fever among the devotees who are arriving in droves from other places, since the Paithan tehsil had been gripped by a dengue like fever for a period of about a fortnight, official sources said.
The local authorities have made separate drinking water arrangements for the pilgrims and health camps were set up for medical check-ups during the annual fair, the sources added.
