NE Agri Expo will open new opportunities for the farmers: Rio
Kohima, Mar 23 (UNI) In a bid to boost agriculture and allied sectors of the North East region, the first ever North East Expo will be inaugurated by Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar at Dimapur on March 27.
Speaking to the media persons Mr Rio said the mega event would give the farmers an opportunity to interact with international and national scientists, agriculturists, agri-technical experts from Neitherland, Japan, United Kingdom and Israel.
The Expo would be organised by Confederation of Indian Industry, Union Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
It would open up new opportunities to the farmers in line with the 'Look East' policy of the Centre.
The major attraction of the expo would be the thematic pavilions to display products of the entire region, livestock show by the NE states, farm and food processing technologies, machinaries, agri and food bazars, and state pavilions, conferences and workshops on agricultural topics.
Scientists, experts, investors have been invited to participate in this expo alongwith seventy exhibitors from various parts of the country.
