Naik calls for LS dissolution; Nagma hails Sonia as ' Mother India '
Mumbai, Mar 23 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Ram Naik today called for dissolution of Lok Sabha , saying '' political weapon used by Sonia Gandhi against Smt Jaya Bachchan has boomeranged '' creating an unprecedented choas in the Indian democracy.
Reacting to Ms Gandhi's decision, Mr Naik, president of BJP national disciplinary committee, said that President of the ruling party, Lok Sabha Speaker and some other top brass have violated the law of the land. ''It is a total fraud on the people of the country.
Instead of resorting to dramatic acrobatics the best course would be to dissolve the Lok Sabha and seek fresh mandate from the people of India,'' he said.
Film actor Nagma, on the other hand, said, by resigning from the membership of Lok Sabha, Ms Sonia Gandhi has once again proved that she is 'Mother India'. "Firstly by not accepting the post of Prime Minister, and now by resigning from the lower House, she has shown that she has not entered into politics for power or profit, "Nagma, who calls herself a congress activist, added.
Incidentally, the Congress party had put Nagma on their election campaign in the 2004 Lok Sabha polls, but later withdrew her following allegations that she had links with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
