Mahatma's Dandi yatra villages to be special tourist sites

Surat, Mar 23 (UNI) Gujarat Tourism Development Corporation has identified three villages in Olpad taluka of the district, where Mahatma Gandhi stayed while he was on way to Dandi, for developing as special tourist sites.

The villages identified are Umrachhi, Delad and Bhatgam.

Surat Urban Development Authority has also submitted to the State government, a proposal to develop Vanj and Chapprabhatta as a part of the 'Dandi yatra' tourism projects.

Resident District Collector V K Parmar today said all the important places where Mahatma Gandhi stayed while he was leading the Dandi yatra would be connected by special roads.
