Lata Mangeshkar presents Sachin with Golden Bat

Mumbai, Mar 23 (UNI) Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar today felicitated cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar with a 'Golden Bat' on the master-blaster becoming all-time great Indian having played the maximum number of Test matches in the country's cricket history.

Accepting the honour, Sachin credited his accomplishment to his elder brother Ajit Tendulkar and coach Ramakant Athrekar, saying they are the persons who made him what he is today.

He said he is extremely lucky to be born in family who gave him unstinted support and strength to achieve what he has been able to so far.

Speaking after presenting the bat on behalf of the Marathi language journalists, Lata Mangeshkar said it is because of Sachin she had started watching cricket. '' I have missed many a meals while glued to TV screen watching him perform''.
