Land dispute: K'taka HC admits NICE petition

Bangalore, Mar 23 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court today admitted a writ appeal filed by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Limited, the executors of the presitigious Bangalore-Mysore Expressway project, challenging the claim of a private person with regard to a piece of land located at Pantarapalya-Kengeri Hobli Bangalore South Taluk.

The appeal arose out of the judgement rendered by a single judge, allowing a writ petition filed by A C Anathaswamy claiming ownership of the land acquired by the company. These proceedings, according to the appellant, NICE, was illegal and the disputed land had been granted treating the same as government land.

The appeal was admitted by the Bench, comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Mr Justice V C Sabahit.
