K'taka DyCM faces privilege motion in Council; orders reserved
Bangalore, Mar 23 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Council Chairman V R Sudarshan today reserved his ruling on the breach of privilege motion moved against Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for allegedly misleading the House by furnishing wrong information on fund allocation in the budget for 2006-07.
Moving the motion, Leader of the Opposition H K Patil said Mr Yediyurppa, who also holds the Finance portfolio, had misled the House by giving wrong information in the budget on fund allocation to the irrigation department and demanded that he apologise to the people of the state.
Giving a detailed reply, Mr Yediyurappa denied he had misled the House, clarifying that he had only mentioned about funds allocated for irrigation works in the budget and not for the entire sector.
After hearing Mr Yediyurappa's reply, Mr Sudarshan reserved his ruling.
