K'taka conveys its stand to Apex Court on Idgah maidan case

Bangalore, Mar 23 (UNI) The Karnataka Government is in favour of the solution suggested by the Supreme Court to solve the sensational Hubli Idgah issue.

In a letter to its counsel Sanjay R Hegde, copies of which were released to the reporters here yesterday, the government asked him to convey its stand to the Apex Court in the issue and said '' ''The JD (S)-BJP coalition government is willing to facilitate both the sides to settle the issue amicably as early as possible. To this end, the total expenditure for fencing the area and refurbishing the maidan by planting trees will be borne by it.'' The government said the members of the Muslim community would be given exclusive access on two days of Id every year to offer prayers.
