J K Speaker asks govt to furnish details on Gujarat encounter
Jammu, Mar 22 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Tara Chand today directed the state government to furnish details of the encounter that took place in Gujarat, which killed two students of Shopian in Kashmir.
His decision came after Opposition members and the ruling coalition raised the issue in the Assembly.
However, Transport Minister Mangat Ram Sharma assured the House that the datails of the incident would be furnished within three days.
Gujarat police recently gunned down two Kashmiri youths along with as many Pakistani nationals allegedly owing allegiance to Pakistan-based outfit Harkat-ul-Mujaheedin in a residential complex of Vatva area of the Ahmedabad city.
