IT Expo Infocom 2K6 in Lucknow
Lucknow, Mar 23: To showcase its achievement in the sphere of Information Technology and attract investments in the critical sector, the Uttar Pradesh government is organising a three day IT Expo Infocom 2K6 here from April one.
For the first time, the UP government would also organise a 'Job Fair' here in June where students from UP would get a chance to grab promising jobs in IT and allied sectors.
UP minister of state for Information Technology Virendra Singh told mediapersons here that renowned IT companies like Microsoft, Intel, IBM, HP, Compaq, Kodak, HCL along with 40 other companies have evinced interest in participating at the Expo.
He said during the expo, the state government will also sign two Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) -- first with Microsoft on e-governance and another with Intel for Employees PC programme.
Talking about the UP Infocom Job fair, the minister said only 5,000 students from the state will be eligible to participate in it.
Singh said during the IT Expo, IT companies will also demonstrate their latest offerings with attractive discount on purchases.
