Govt staff convicted for bribery

Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Special Judge for Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Cases here today convicted A Krishna, a Line Inspector of APTRANSCO in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and pay a fine of Rs 1,000.

The ACB officials had arrested Mr Krishna on December 12, 1999 when he accepted Rs 1,000 as bribe from the complainant.

In an another case, the Judge had convicted M Satyanarayana, Assistant Manager, R Subba Reddy, Deputy Manager and R Rayappa Accountant of AP State Trading Corporation (APSTC).

They were sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year and to pay a fine of Rs 1,000.

The ACB officials had registered a case against the trio following a suprise check for pocketing dealer's commission on the sale of note books, an ACB release said here.
