Delhi HC directs MCD to dismiss official found guilty

New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to dismiss any official, found guilty of conniving with builder mafia in permitting illegal construction in the capital.

A Division Bench of Justice Mr Vijendra Jain and Justice Rekha Sharma appointed four advocates as Court Commissioners in four zones -- South , Central, Karol Bagh and Rohini--to identify unauthorised buildings.

The MCD has been asked to assist the Court Commissioner.

The Court said it was not satisfied with the cosmetic demolition going on in the capital.

The Urban Development Ministry said that it would supervise the job of demolitions by the MCD to ensure removal of illegal constructions.

The Court asked the MCD to file the revised status report by April 20, the next date of hearing.
