Court allows IO to interrogate Tukaram Shiware in Jail

Mumbai, Mar 23 (UNI) A Special ACB court today granted permission to Investigating Officer (IO) Sudhakar Poojari to interrogate Dr Tukaram Shiware, former principal of Hinduja College, arrested in multi-crore MPSC examination scam of 1999, in the Arthur Road prison.

Granting permission on an application of the IO, Additional Sessions Judge P N Deshmukh said Dr Shiware could be questioned tomorrow between 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs.

Dr Shiware, in his capacity as member of the MPSC between January 10, 1994, and January 11, 2000, had allegedly favoured three Lohar brothers in their recruitment as Deputy Superitendent of Police.

A total of 29 people, including former Chairmen S D Karnik and P D Wani, Controller of examination Sudhakr Sarode and member Sayali Joshi, were arrested in the MPSC examination scam.
