Conman arrested for embezzling Rs 21 lakh

New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) Police today claimed to have solved a case of embezzlement and forgery with the arrest of a conman.

Accused Mohamad Shadab (25), a native of Patna, was arrested for allegedly being involved in siphoning off funds amounting to Rs 21 lakh from a company based in Okhla.

He was arrested from Patna where he had escaped, police said.

On February 23, Managing Director of Ajay Air Products Pvt Ltd Rajesh Chawla lodged an FIR complaining that his accountant Shadab had clandestinely withdrawn the amount from different accounts by forging his signatures and submitting forged attestation letter of the firm.

A total amount of Rs 17.39 lakh in cash and Kissan Vikas Patra worth Rs 55,000 was recovered from him.
