City court remands two senior engineers to 14 day JC
New Delhi, Mar 23 (UNI) A city court today remanded two senior engineers of Delhi Government who were nabbed by the CBI yesterday for allegedly accepting a bribe from a private person, to 14 days judicial custody.
Patiala House Court Special Judge I K Kochchar, remanded the Junior engineer Pradeep Verma and Assistant engineer Rafat Jamal in fourteen days judicial custody for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 3500 from the complainant, Ashok Yadav.
Both of them were posted at the electrical division of Hauz Khas, New Delhi. They had demanded a bribe of Rs 3500 (10 per cent of the value of the executed work) for awarding future contracts to Gupta.
A trap was laid and both of them were caught red-handed in the presence of independent witness by the agency, the CBI said.
Both of them were arrested under sections seven, 13 (1) (d) of the Prvention of Corruption (PC) Act and 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
