Bomb threat turns out to be a hoax

Kozhikode, Mar 23 (UNI) The bomb detection and disposal squad of the police today conducted search operations in and around the city, following an anonymous call that a bomb had been planted in the district.

However, the threat turned out to be a hoax as no explosive was found after combing operations at all main throughfares, as well as the railway and bus stations and the court premises.

According to the police, the call was received at the police control room at Thiruvanthapuram from Malappuram early in the morning.

The city, which was rocked by twin blasts, had received many hoax calls after the incident on March 3.

No arrest had been made so far even after more than two weeks despite assurance of prompt action by the police.
