Ahmedabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Unlike the appeasement policies of the UPA government, the BJP is trying to build a communally conducive atmosphere through the proposed 'National Integration yatra' to be taken out by its senior leader L K Advani, said a senior party functionary.

Addressing reporters here, Purushottom Rupala said by trying to appease the minority community, the Congress and its allies are creating a rift in the society. ''We see a sudden spurt in terrorist activities lately,'' he said.

The yatra will begin on April six from Rajkot and cover 36 places in the state, before it enters Maharashtra. Mr Advani will first seek blessings at the Dwarkadeesh temple and then embark on the yatra, he said, adding, the yatra will cross ten states and culminate in Delhi on May 10.

On the same day, BJP President Rajnath Singh will launch a five-week-long journey from Puri through 11 states before he reaches Delhi on May 10, Mr Rupala added.
