Alwar rape case accused remanded to 15-day judicial custody

Alwar, Mar 23 (UNI) The MBA student B H Mohanty, accused in the alleged rape of a German research student, has been remanded to 15 days in judicial custody.

Police superintendent Rajesh Arya said the case's challan would soon be put before the court. Meanwhile, after the medical examinations of both Mohanty and the German student, their samples had been sent to Jaipur. The reports were awaited.

It is to be noted that Mohanty is son of Orissa DGP and is said to have flaunted his connections and threatened the girl not to reveal anything about the incident.

Mr Arya said the case would be taken up after evidence was gathered.

Meanwhile, the German student has been sent to New Delhi.

The girl was allegedly raped by Mohanty on Monday at a hotel in Alwar. Mohanty was arrested on Tuesday as he was fleeing by the Inter City Express to New Delhi.
