AIADMK leader demands CBI probe into corruption in PPC
Pondicherry, Mar 23 (UNI) AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan, MLA, today sought a CBI probe into the alleged corruption in the Pondicherry Power Corproation (PPC).
Addressing a press conference here, he said during the last assembly session when the AIADMK raised the issue of corruption in the PPC, members of the Congress and the DMK shouted it down stating that it was a baseless allegation.
But now the Corporation chairman had himself demanded action against a few officials for alleged corruption, the AIADMK leader pointed out.
Mr Anbazhagan said the vigilance inquiry ordered into the alleged corruption was an 'eye wash' as the vigilance officer here had no powers to interrogate the corporation officals, which included IAS officers.
He urged Lt Governor M M Lakhera to intervene and order a CBI probe into the alleged corruption in the PPC.
