Writ petition against BJP rath yatras filed in HC

New Delhi, Mar 22: A writ petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking direction to stop the rath yatras by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by former deputy prime minister L K Advani from Dwarka in Gujarat and party president Rajnath Singh from Puri in Orrisa, simultaneously from April 6.

The yatras might disturb communal harmony in the country, said the petition filed by counsel Naval Kishore Jha.

The yatra is also in violation of the model code of conduct in force in some states going to polls, the petition said.
