Video conferencing facility between HC and jails:CM

Panaji, Mar 22 (UNI) The Goa government proposes to set up video conferencing facilities between the High Court and jails.

Disclosing this in the budget speech for the year 2006-07 presented to the State Legislative Assembly today, Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane said the government has also started building a new jail at Colvale in Bardez and Konkan Railway Police Station at Margao.

The government was raising a battalion of reserve police for which Rs 13 crore has been provided in the budget.

The Centre had also earmarked funds for construction of three coastal security police stations and purchase of boats under the Coastal Security Scheme.

Mr Rane also enumerated various schemes for modernisation of the state police force with support from the Centre.
