Upper House again adjourned over Jaya Bachchan issue

New Delhi, Mar 22: Members from the Samajwadi Party and BJP forced the adjournment of the Rajay Sabha for the second time in a row today on the issue of disqualified Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan.

''Baki sab bahana hai, Sonia Gandhi ko bachana hai'' (everything else is a excuse, it is only to save Sonia),'' the Opposition members chanted, as they trooped into the well of the House after the House reassembled at 1300 hrs.

Others, including BJP member SS Ahluwalia, called for the return of Ms Bachchan. ''Jaya Bachchan ko Vapas Lao (Bring back Jaya Bachchan),'' they demanded.

Deputy Chairman Rehman Khan promptly adjourned the house till 1400 hrs.

Earlier in the day, proceedings in both the houses were stalled over the same issue.
