Trials to select Indian baseball team from March 25

Chandigarh, Mar 22 (UNI) The Baseball Federation of India (BFI) will conduct trials on March 25 and 26 at the Panjab University Campus here to select the national team for the fourth Asian Qualifying Baseball Cup for men to be held in Pakistan next month. BFI secretary general P C Bhardwaj told UNI from Delhi on phone that 25 probables would attend a coaching camp and 18 would be selected for Indian team to participate in the Asian tourney to be held from April 20 to 25.

The first two top finishers in the tournament would qualify for the Asian Games to be held in Doha this year.

Besides India, other nations taking part in the qualifying tournament are Philippines, Iran, Pakistan, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taipei.
